<br />able to distribute over 100 backpacks to the kids; the backpacks were donated by local <br />businesses, the Caring Tree, and private individuals. She stated their after school program is <br />offered Monday through Thursday and provides intensive homework help for the kids. She <br />stated other recreational activities include a twice-monthly basketball game with local law <br />enforcement, movie nights, and a recent paintball outing with the police department. She stated <br />the annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for March 13, 2009, beginning at 7:00 a.m. at <br />Church of St. Stephen in Anoka. She expressed her thanks to the City for its support and invited <br />anyone to visit the Youth First offices for a tour. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey expressed the City Council's thanks to Ms. Geiss for her dedication and <br />commitment to the program and the children. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated he had some edits to the January 13, 2009 City Council minutes. <br />He also requested Consent Agenda item C-9 (Adopt Resolution X09-01-XXX Approving the <br />Environmental Policy Board's 2009 Work Plan) be pulled from the Consent Agenda for <br />discussion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated he had some edits to the January 13, 2009 City Council minutes. <br />He also requested Consent Agenda item C-ll(3) (Consider a Resolution Amending the "Policy <br />for Appointing Board and Commission Members") be pulled from the Consent Agenda for <br />discussion. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich requested the addition of two cases to Council Business. He requested <br />discussion regarding Sunfish Lake Park, which was scheduled to be discussed. at the Council's <br />Work Session earlier this evening but the meeting was not held due to time constraints. This will <br />be considered as Case #11. He also requested the City Council discuss Nowthen's request to the <br />City to provide police service as Case #12. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to approve the agenda, <br />as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None.
