NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The following City Council meeting minutes were noted: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br />3) <br />4) <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated August 27, 1991. <br />City Council special meeting minutes dated August 29, 1991. <br />Ramsey/Anoka joint City Council meeting minutes dated September 4, 1991. <br />City Council public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated September <br />1991. <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated September 24, 1991. <br /> <br />10, <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Interview Sue Thorson for Vacancy on Economic Development <br /> Commission to expire January 31, 1992. <br /> <br />Ms. Thorson was present at the Economic Development Commission (EDC) meeting. Chairman <br />Wagner explained the meeting schedules and time commitments. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry as to what areas of the City need attention, Ms. Thorson replied that the Highway <br />#10 business area may need to be upgraded from being viewed as just a region of car lots and bars. <br /> <br />A discussion ensued regarding projects the EDC is working on. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Vevea and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to recommend the <br />appointment of Ms. Sue Thorson to the Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Wagner, Commissioners Fults, Nelson and Vevea. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Gorecki, Greenberg and Kent. <br /> <br />Chaim'~an Wagner directed City staff to send this agenda and the goals list to Ms. Thorson. <br /> <br />Case #2: Goals for 1992. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder announced there would be a 1992 Goals Workshop at City Hall on <br />Saturday, November 23, 1991 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. He stated the draft given to the <br />Commission was not listed in any particular priority and that there may be more than one <br />Commission or Board assigned to a certain task. The workshop and goals list will allow citizen <br />input as well as commission input to City Council and staff. <br /> <br />After further discussion, the Commission came to the consensus they may want to add the <br />following goals with a high priority: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br /> <br />Develop an arm of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce <br />Possibly completing the Star City Program <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder also reaffirmed that the City Council will prioritize the goals of what needs to be <br />accomplished, probably at one of the first meetings in 1992 and that the EDC may wish to use its <br />meeting December 11, 1991 to look over all of the goals and come up with some ideas themselves. <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission / November 13, 1991 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
