He stated that this amendment allows us to explore the options at
Armstrong Boulevard and TH 10. He stated that they do want the City to move forward with
construction at Bunker Lake Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard. He stated that the cost
estimate went down dramatically. He stated that the County also wants to move forward with a
design and environmental documentation for the interchange at TH 10 and Armstrong Boulevard
with an estimated City cost of $500,000. He stated that staff is recommending approving the
amendment with the County.
Councilmember Look asked how much of the $4 million, that was going to be used for
upgrading the intersection, will go to the County.
Public Works Director Olson stated that the County is assuming that this isn't moving forward
and the improvements need to be completed as part of the Ramsey Town Center project.
Councilmember Look confirmed that the City was going to pay the entire bill. He asked if the
Joint Powers Agreement would also be amended for Sunfish Lake Boulevard.
Public Works Director Olson stated that on page 299, part SD, it is amending the portion, which
points to Sunfish Lake Blvd and improvements associated with Ramsey Town Center.
Mayor Ramsey stated that Phase 4 is a hard channel north of Bunker Lake Boulevard and asked
when that will happen.
Public Works Director Olson stated that it was a four lane road, however, there was discussion
and clarification from the County that the only reason it was suggested north of Bunker Lake
Blvd, was because there was discussion about a signal at Bunker Lake Boulevard and Sunfish
City Council !March 10, 2009
