many things he would like changed in the ordinance. Dur~ng that amendment process, the Rural Developing Bulk
Standards erroneously reverted back to the old standards with regard to lot size, lot width, and
setbacks. Staff has drafted an ordinance that will correct the lot size, lot width, and setbacks for
the R-l Rural Developing bulk 'standards. Staffalso noticed that when the R-l Rural Developing
bulk standards were amended to require lot clustering, the maximum number of driveways was
reduced fi'om two to one per street frontage. This is logical for all lots created under the new
standards, which would be similar in size to urban lots. However, most of the existing properties
in the R ural Developing district are at least an acre in size and thus, staff has also revised the
bulk. standards to specify that clustered lots are limited to one driveway per street frontage but
that all cxisting (non-clustered) lots are limited to two driveways. He advised the Planning
Commission conducted a public hearing on September 1,2005. There were no written or verbal
comments submitted at the hearing. The Council introduced the ordinance on September 13,
2005 and it is now eligible for adoption.

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Ordinance #05-
24 amending City Code Section 9.20.11 (R-1 Residential District)..

^ rc)1I call vote was perfOlmed by the Recording Secretary:

Mayor (iamec:
C'ouncilmcmbcr Coole
CounciJmcmber EIvig:
Councilmcmbcr Jeffrey:
Councilmcmbcr Olson:
Councilmcmber Pearson:
Couilcilmcmbcr Strommen:

aye
aye
aye
absent
aye
aye
aye

Motion carried.

Councihncmber Elvig left the meeting at 8:27 p.m.

City Council!
