Absent: Commissioner Bawden. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to amend #37 to read <br />"That the proposed use will be designed, constructed, operated and maintained so as to be <br />harmonious and appropriate in appearance with the existing or intended character of the general <br />vicinity and will not change the essential character of the area. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Commissioner Hendriksen stated that the design being proposed doesn't <br />appear to be consistent with the requirements and inquired if the Commission was planning to <br />modify this during the site plan discussion to be harmonious. Discussion ensued regarding what is <br />allowed in B-W zoning and I-1. Commissioner Deemer noted heavy manufacturing companies <br />and outside storage currently exist in the area.. Commissioner Hendriksen pointed out the <br />problem with the accessory structure size and stated that it also is not consistent. Chairman <br />Zimmerman stated that the Findings should address the proposed use, not the buildings. <br />Commissioner Hendriksen stated that his point is that the proposal received is not harmonious. <br />Commissioner LaDue stated that by saying it will be harmonious regardless of what he is <br />proposing, is saying that it will be made to be harmonious. Commissioner Hendriksen stated that <br />the design thus far does not meet the requirements to be consistent with the B-W Zoning and <br />suggested adding a new findings of fact accordingly. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
