12
a/MteAtti
From: "Hong, R. (Rhonda)"
Date; March 22, 2009 10:02:18-PM CDT
To: <mayorramsey @ci,ramsey.mn,us >, <mlook @ci.ramsey.mn.us>, <colin @colinmcglone.com>
Cc: "David Jeffrey" <DJeffrey @DJeffrey.coma
Subject: Proposed Memorial Park on Sunwood drive between Krypton Court and County Road S.
Dear Mayor and Council Members:
I just finished watching the park and rec meeting that took place on 3/12. It appears that the park board
will recommend to the City Council to move forward with the proposed memorial park that is being
requested by a small group of Ramsey residents. I have been working with David Jeffery to express my
concern and opposition to this proposed project. David has been out town and this issue needs some
immediate attention so I am writing to all of you. My property borders the proposed site along the back
of my property line. Visually, it is right in my back yard.
I was shocked when they asked during the meeting if the Krypton Court Residents had expressed any
concerns and our city intern minimized the issues that had been given to him by me and those given to
David Jeffery by me and others. He did NOT represent both sides of the issue and the issue he did
express was incorrect to say the least!
They asked if notice was given to the Krypton Court residents about the meeting, We did receive notice
of the city council working session at the beginning of March but no notice was given about the park
board meeting on 3/12, It now appears we needed to be present to represent our concerns since none
of them were represented properly by the city staff present.
My understanding is that all 4 properties owners on Krypton Court that have property that border this
proposed site are not in support of this project and have serious concerns. I have recommended that
they contact the City Council members and we need to know when this will go before the Council for a
final decision.
I would like to discuss with each of you my concerns. Here is my contact information. Please contact
me at your earliest convenience. I also have a call into to David Jeffery as our Ward Representative
requesting he meet with the Krypton Court Neighborhood to discuss the proposed plans.
Rhonda Hong
