Wednesday, June 17
12 to 2 p.m. Conference Registration

2 to 2:50 p.m.

Shovel Ready Presentation

Gene Goddard, Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development
A growing trend among states seeking to attract new industry is to have a Shovel Ready Site Certification
Program. The importance of this program to prospective businesses is that it reduces the time and
increases the predictability of getting the land developed, the building constructed, and their operation up
and running. Delivery time is very critical to a company and having certiffied sites gives a community a
distinct competitive advantage. The definition of a Shovel Ready Site varies among states but it essentially
means that a community (or some other third party) has a site under its control and all of the planning,
zoning, surveys, title work, environmental studies, soils analysis and public infrastructure engineering has
been compoleted prior to marketing the site.

.2:50 to 3:10p.m.

Break

3:10 to 4:00 p.m.

DEED/Minnesota Small Business Development Cent~r (MNSBDC)

Mike Myhre, Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development
Learn about how the MNSBDC is assisting and promoting small business development in Minnesota by
leveraging expertise on a regional basis and providing valuable guidance to business at no charge to them.

4 to 5 p.m. Break

5 to 6 p.m. EDAM Past Presidents Reception

6 to 6:15 p.m. President's Welcome, including introduction of new members/attendees

6:15 to 7 p.m. Banquet

7 to 7:30 p.m. Mark Loftus,

7:30 to 8:15 p.m. EDAM Annual Economic Development Awards (sponsored by the Minnesota Real Estate Journal)

8:30 to 11 :30 p.m. Casino Night!
