Conduct recruitment and selection processes for vacancies that result from attrition, as well as <br />for paid~on-call Fire Fighters, Police Reserves, and seasonal and casual positions (ongoing). <br />2. Manage recruitment and selection processes for boards and commissions (ongoing): <br />3. Conduct an employee benefits survey. <br />4. Update as necessary and distribute personnel policy to all staff. <br />5. Develop HR mission statement and metrics. <br />6. Explore efficient and effective means to maintain high levels of employee productivity, <br />engagement and satisfaction (ongoing). <br />7. Explore the market for cost effective enhancements to the City's benefits program (ongoing). <br />8. Explore a post employment health care savings plan for Patrol Sergeants and Patrol Officers. <br />9. Develop formal orientation process for new employees, including PowerPoint presentation and <br />tours. <br />10. Continue annual employee training programs (sexual harassment prevention, CDL, diversity, <br />supervisory, etc.) (ongoing). <br />11. Continue to offer wellness activities and resources (ongoing). <br />12. Work with IT staff to expand/refine Intranet for City staff (ongoing). <br />13. Work with department directors to expand employee recognition and retention efforts <br />(ongoing). <br />14. ContinUe to monitor efficiency and effectiveness of performance appraisal process and work with <br />department heads to address performance issues via work plan, coaching, etc. <br /> <br />Information Technology <br /> <br />1. Work with an outside vendor to re-design and re-organize the city's web site. Explore options for <br />increased interoctive communication with residents via the website. <br />2. Coordinate new training sessions for staff on Microsoft Office and other software packages the <br />City uses. <br />3. Integrate Municode (codification service) with the city web site. <br />4. Upgrade all PC's to Microsoft Office 2007. <br />5. Evaluate Microsoft Vista operating system and formulate a plan for implementation. <br />6. Work with the Finance department on automating the scanning and filing of finance documents <br />into Laser Fiche using bar code technology. <br />7. Review the current contract for local and long distance phone service and review proposals from <br />other vendors. <br />8. Create new templates and emgillists with the list serve management software that will give <br />more information and are more interactive with residents. <br />9. Research current software inventories and make adjustments as necessary to insure licensing <br />compliance. <br />10.
