Absent: Commissioner Barr.

Case #6:

Ramsey',s Environmental Expo

Parks Supervisor Riverblood reported the City of Ramsey has held this event for decades. He
advised that this year's event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. He advised that information
was included in the City Newsletter along with the City Website. He advised that a Business
Expo would also be held at PACT Charter School and both events would remain open until 2
p.m. He thought that the Commission should look to extend their hours closer to the 2 p.m. time.
He thought that some cross over traffic would be generated.

Chairperson Johns preferred volunteering for the early shift, along with Commissioners Erickson
and Hansen volunteering for the second shift. Commissioner Shryock advised that she would not
be available. Commissioner "LaMere offered for the morning, and Commissioner Backous
needed to check his schedule.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that staff members would be available as well.

Chairperson Johns thought that a better display should be used for this year's event. She thought
that CIP and the five year plan information should be provided, along with the aerial view book.

Commissioner LaMere questioned if Sunfish Lake Park would be in process by that time.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood confirmed that information on that project would be included in the
display.

Commissioner Backous suggested including the trail map as well.

Commissioner Shryock questioned if there would be room for an easel to display unique features
of parks within the City that would be more interactive for residents. She volunteered to setup
that item for the event.

Commissioner LaMere questioned if a laptop would be available for maps and park information
via the website.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that the website was not as appealing as they might like it
to be, but would soon include a park finder. He advised that those items would include staff time
that has still to be budgeted. He hoped that feature would be ready in the next year.

Chairperson Johns thought something should be included regarding the Skate Park at Alpine
Park.

Commissioner Shryock thought that the dog park should also be included, as that should be open
near that time.

Park and Recreation CommissionlMarch 12, 2009
Page 12 of 15
