4) Ramsey Resident Newsletter Format Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that the City has talked to Prime Advertising in the past to consider doing the newsletter as well as a community guide. She stated that they have given a proposal to the City for the format of the newsletter and since this is a new Council, staff wanted to see if they would like to change what the City has been doing. She reviewed their proposed newsletter format with four color, glossy pages. Councilmember Dehen asked if there could be other vendors to consider for this work. Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that she is unsure, but thinks they rather have the comer on this market. Councilmember Jeffrey suggested having a Request For Proposal (RFP) process. Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that staff will review some other options and companies that may be able to do this work. She reviewed the cost for production of the newsletter through Prime. Councilmember Look suggested doing the newsletter through an outside vendor for a year and then after that consider taking it over ourselves. There was a Consensus to pursue some other companies for RFPs for the newsletter. There was discussion about the frequency and size of our usual newsletter. The Council discussed researching costs for producing a four-color glossy newsletter on our own, including selling ad space. Councilmember Look stated that he can check with a printer on some costs for producing a four color, glossy page newsletter.
