Chairman Ippel stated that Barton Sand and Gravel has a proposal before the <br />Pi and Zoning Commission for a conditional use pewit to extract <br />aggrega s and operate an asphalt plant at County Rd. #116 and County Rd. <br />#56. The operation would include 60' silos; the mining would take a lot of <br />the high ground anticipated for use as fill on airport property and <br />rerouting County )mad #116. The zoning in place at this time does not <br />prohibit such a development. <br />Motion by Commissioner Emery and seconded by Commissioner Qw; man to inform <br />e Plaming and Zoning Commission that the Airport Commission strongly <br />opposes granting ing a conditional use permit to Barton Sand and Gravel to <br />extract aggregate and operate an asphalt plant at the requested location <br />(County Rd. #116 and County Rd. #56) based on the following reasons: <br />1. The proposed use conflicts with the current CoWrehensive Plan. <br />2. The proposed use would be adjacent to a residential neighborhood. <br />3. The proposed use would create excessive noise, traffic, smoke, <br />fumes and odors. <br />4. The proposed use would impact Gateway North Airport. <br />5. The current process of enacting an airport zoning ordinance <br />pertaining to all of the above. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Greenberg, <br />Chapman, Emery, Barnes and Donovan. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Ca nnissioners Sieber, Stauffer and Erickson. <br />ADICUBNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Barnes to <br />adjourn the regular meeting. <br />Notion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Greenberg, <br />Chapman, Emery, Barnes and Donovan. Voting No: None.
