Waste Management was infoDDed that in~tibility
is based on landfill vertical expansion encroaching conicle airspace and
landfills being a bird attractiCl'l causing a safety factor for the airport.
Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. indicated that they are willing to work
with the city to see that these concerns are resolved.

{"ARe II: AiJ:.POrt Zon~:

Herland Otto stated that the purpose of airport zoning is to protect
airport awroaches fran further developnent. Also, in order to canply with
State criteria and be eligible for funding, airports owners must have a
zoning ordinance adopted or be in the process of developing one. Because
Ramsey does not alrrentlyam the airport, they can't establish a jOint
airport zoning board with other affected agencies; because the airport is
within Ramsey boundaries, the City has the option to adopt a zoning
ordinance for the City itself and request adjacent community affected by
height limitatiCllS to adopt a similar zoning ordinance. Mr. Otto proceeded
to review, with the Camli.ssion, the proposed zoning ordinance which was
prep:lred using FAA's model ordinance as a guideline.
