CASE. # a3 <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br />By: Public Works .Staff <br />Background: <br />.The Public Works Committee met. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 and discussed the following nine <br />cases: <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion to approve the agenda as submitted. <br />Case #1: Consider. Comments Received at Public Hearing for 2009 Street <br />.Maintenance Program <br />.Background: <br />This case is a result of a Public Hearing held on March 10, 2009 where the property owners were <br />present to express their concerns relating to two bituminous overlay projects. Staff wanted to <br />alert the property owners to a policy that states projects involving streets which have had <br />previous proposed maintenance projects defeated by petition shall be ineligible to receive the. <br />Cities 50% contribution if the project requires more expensive maintenance. Staff is asking the <br />Committee if that policy should be expressed to the property owners. <br />Motion to recommend to the City Council to order the projects as proposed with a letter being <br />sent out to the residents with a final review by the City Administrator. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case #2 Discussion of Storm Sewer Improvements within Alpaca Estates. for Ramsey. <br />Commons <br />Background: <br />The Ramsey Commons project which was approved by City Council in May of 2008 which is- <br />located. at the northwest corner of Armstrong and Riverdale. Staff explained .that there is a <br />regional pond approximately 1200 feet to the west and the applicant is requesting to split the <br />ponding capacity between the two and staff is agreeable to that. Staff is recommending Option 2 <br />Allowing the .applicant to write down a portion of the initial installation cost of the pond outlet <br />_gg_ <br />
