<br />Now as we face the first divisive issue of this new council and new <br /> <br />year it appears not only has that vision statement been forgotten but also <br /> <br />directly contradicted by this public hearing and the methods being used to <br /> <br />deal with the wetland buffer controversy. <br /> <br />In case people have forgotten-which many apparently have-that <br /> <br />vision statement reads: <br /> <br />Without compromising private property rights and needs of future <br />generations, Ramsey will evolve through citizen driven, collaborative <br />processes that respect the balance and connectivity between its unique <br />urban, rural and natural environments. <br /> <br />Among the value statements are the following: <br /> <br />1 Maintain land owner rights. <br /> <br />111 Involve all citizens in decisions that impact their lives, property <br /> <br />and neighborhoods through the use of a facilitated process such as <br /> <br />collaborative decision-making. <br /> <br />IV. Embrace a people-centr:red, long-term perspective that nurtures <br /> <br />neighborhood and community interactions and with flexibility to meet Yuture <br /> <br />needs without compromising the needs and interests of current reSidejts. <br />
