<br />5.07.09 Permit to Hunt or Discharge. A permit to hunt '.viM game v.ith or discharge a <br />firearm as an exception to this ordinance may be issued by the Police Chief. The Police Chief <br />shall be granted the authority to administer the permit process. <br /> <br />5.07.10 Target Shooting. A permit to "target shoot" may be issued by the Police Chief <br />The Police Chief or his designee must inspect the location prior to a permit being issued. The <br />Police Chief shall be granted the authority to administer the permit process. <br /> <br />5.07.11 <br /> <br />Use of Bows and Arrows. <br />a. The use of a bow and arrow for hunting purposes shall be permitted in the <br />City in hunting wild game in accordance with the laws of the State of <br />Minnesota and this section. <br />b. Bow and arrow hunting shall NOT be permitted within 500 feet of any <br />residential dwelling or other structure, park or playground without a City <br />permit that specifically allows it. <br />c. Hunting shall NOT be permitted within 500 feet of any trunk highway <br />without a City permit that specifically grants permission. <br /> <br />5.07.12 Permits for Bow and Arrow Hunting. A permit for bow and arrow hunting <br />shall be required prior to such hunting in the City. Applicants for a bow and arrow hunting <br />permit shall apply to the Police Chief or his/her designated representative. The Police Chief <br />shall be granted the authority to administer the permit. Permits shall be issued only for the <br />period of the State of Minnesota bow and arrow annual deer hunting season. <br /> <br />5.07.13 Restrictions. Bow and arrow hunting shall not be within 500 feet of any <br />residential structure, commercial structure, park or playground, or any trunk highway without a <br />City permit that specifically grants permission. <br /> <br />5.07.14 Permit Denials. Any party that has a permit request denied under this section <br />may appeal to the Board of Administrative Hearings. The request for a hearing must be in <br />writing, detailing the reasonfor the appeal, and shall include a $250filingfee. <br /> <br />Historical Note <br /> <br />Established by Ord. 73-10, August 20, 1973. <br /> <br />Ord. #08-06 amended ~5.07.08 by deleting "License to <br />Carry Weapons" and replacing it with "Permit to Hunt". <br />Also, ~5.07.1O (Permits for Bow and Arrow Hunting) <br />language was amended. Effective date March 17,2008. <br /> <br />Ord. 73-14 amended ~5.07.06 adding "property" to the <br />list of items which persons may legally defend, and not <br />be subject to the provisions of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Amended ~5.07.07, changing "500 yards" to "500 <br />feet" and providing the following exception to the <br />prohibition against shot guns using smaller than 4 shot; <br />"unless a permit is granted by the Town Clerk to the <br />owner or tenant of 40 acres or more, which permit shall <br />permit said owner or tenant to shoot smaller than size 4 <br />
