Preserve unique natural resources for the community and its <br />current residents. <br />Rather than honor the vision statement and its commitment to "citizen <br />driven, collaborative processes," Council and staff have chosen to return to <br />business as usual. Holding an up -or -down public hearing on the wetland <br />buffer controversy does not "Involve all citizens in decisions that impact <br />their lives, property and neighborhoods through the use of a facilitated <br />process such as collaborative decision - making <br />THIS is really what the wetland buffer controversy is about: Will we <br />choose to move forward towards the comprehensive plan's vision of a new <br />Ramsey or do we return to business as usual? <br />Many metro area communities have their eyes on Ramsey to see if <br />this new idea of collaborative decision - making promises a new era in <br />community relations or whether it is mere rhetoric. Ramsey staff made <br />presentations about this process at professional conferences. Ramsey citizens <br />have spoken about it with other communities. Most of all, the McKnight <br />Foundation, which funded the process that produced the vision statement, <br />
