<br />Anoka Technical College Displaced Workers Event <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that there is an event at Anoka Technical College to provide <br />training for displaced workers that will be held on Monday. <br /> <br />Dave Osborne Event at Wvatt Earp's <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that Dave Osborne, a member ofthe community, is battling cancer <br />and there is a benefit being held for him at Wyatt Earp's on May 3, 2009. <br /> <br />Bus Rider Appreciation Day <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that Apri116, 2009,5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. is bus rider appreciation day. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that they will be passing out a survey to the bus riders, which is <br />very important and urges anyone to come out and give this input. He noted that it is important <br />information for the possible rail stop. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated that he got a letter from a citizen concerned about bus service <br />ending. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that the bus service started January 2, 2007 with a CMAQ <br />grant. He stated that it should last for 3 years to January 2010. He stated that with the train <br />starting, some of the bus riders could start using the train, which would mean our costs for the <br />bus service would go up. He stated that this is the purpose of the survey and noted that the <br />survey was handed out to riders tonight. He stated that there will be four cash prizes given to <br />random people who turn in their surveys. <br /> <br />Town Hall Meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey noted that the next Town Hall meeting is April 16, 2009. <br /> <br />Railroad Closure at Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that he received word tonight that Anoka County will put out <br />a post card and advanced warning signs for a closure of Sunfish Lake Blvd railroad crossing <br />between Apri127 and May 8. <br /> <br />Environmental Expo and Tree Sale and Ramsey Business Expo <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson noted that the 32nd Environmental Expo and Tree Sale will <br />be held on April 25, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along with the first Ramsey Business Expo at the <br />PACT Charter School. <br /> <br />City Council / April 14, 2009 <br />Page 16 of17 <br />
