<br />Code of Conduct violation. Councilmember McGlone stated that, he felt the comments made <br />regarding the Mayor in the letter to the editor were offensive and degrading. City Attorney read <br />aloud a portion of the Code of Conduct violation. Jeanie Max, 16284 Uranium Street NW, <br />stated that she is surprised that Councilmember Dehen, as a lawyer didn't say anything about <br />what our constitution says about freedom of speech. She noted that she doesn't even know Mr. <br />Sibilski, but feels that she hears vindictiveness in the discussion tonight. She asked the Council <br />to give him a chance. Councilmember Elvig stated that he echoed what Ms. Max stated. <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that he agrees that Mr. Sibilski has every right to dissent, but feels <br />it could have been done in a different fashion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers McGlone, Dehen, Look, and <br />Wise. Voting No: Councilmembers Elvig and Jeffrey. <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution #09-04-XXX Appointing Board and Commission Members <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that there were a lot of people who came to interview for the open <br />Board and Commission positions. He stated that there are four members who will be leaving <br />their positions and wanted to thank those individuals for serving the community. He stated that <br />if people would like to know why there weren't reappointed, he would ask them to call Human <br />Resources Manager Kone'. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey noted there is a Board and Commission appreciation event on April 20, 2009. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to Adopt Resolution <br />#09-04-080B Appointing Board and Commission Members. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Ramsey asked if, because of Case # 11, whether another person is <br />needed on the EPB. He stated that the Council chose alternates for every Board and Commission <br />and feels there was one for the EPB also. Human Resources Manager Kone' stated that Trent <br />Hassat was chosen as the next person in line for that appointment. Commissioner Elvig <br />suggested they be called runner-up, not alternate. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Dehen, Elvig, Look, <br />McGlone, and Wise.
