for adjacent homeowners. Planting of shrubs and forb plugs may also occur
along the northern park/private landowner border for visual affect. The riverbank
area require much planting, since a good diversity exists currently, but some
shade-tolerant shrubs and herbaceous plugs will likely be planted there,
especially along the south side of the trail (at least 5 feet from trail for mowing
purposes).

Maintenance

Maintenance will be performed by two of the partners: Anoka County Parks and
the City of Ramsey. For the old field and mowed area, maintenance mowing will
be provided by Anoka Parks. For the pond, the City of Ramsey has a drainage
easement for the pond, but it is owned by Anoka County, so Anoka County Parks
will need to mow or burn it annually along with the rest of their space. For the
riverbank area, maintenance will be performed by Anoka County Parks, but only
a minimal amount is expected.

Attempts will be made to engage adjacent homeowners and homeowner
associations to participate in simple but essential maintenance activities like
watering and hand-weeding of plugged and shrub areas during the first 2 years.

Partner Responsibilities

The partners of this project will be utilized for various components of the overall
project. The following is a list of responsibilities for each partner:

City of Ramsey
· Grind out stumps around pond (spring/summer, 2009)
· Provide GRG with contact information of adjacent homeowners and
homeowner associations

Anoka County Parks
· Cut redcedars and other woody invaders from old field (leaving a few
clusters of redcedar for wildlife habitat) (spring, 2009)
· Grub out and/or grind out redcedar stumps in old field (spring/summer,
2009)
· Perform prescribed burn (fall, 2009) (possibly in conjunction with GRG
crew)
. Herbicide turfgrass in mowed area (crew--Iate summer/fall, 2009)
· Dormant seeding of old field and mowed area (fall, 2009)
· Provide maintenance mowing (at least 6 mowings over the course of the
first 2 years after installation, 2010, 2011)) of old field and mowed area
(2010 through 2011)
. Provide minimal maintenance of riverbank area (2009 and ongoing)
.
