<br />Consent: l \ <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF HRA APPLICATIONS FOR ABATEMENT OF SPECIAL <br />ASSESSMENTS ON RAMSEY TOWN CENTER FORECLOSED PARCELS <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 26,2009, the Anoka County Board authorized a person within the property tax division <br />to handle the abatement of the Ramsey Town Center special assessments. This authorization <br />allows the City to abate the special assessments if and only if the Ramsey Town Center land <br />purchase, on the proposed date of June 26, 2009, is completed. <br /> <br />As the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) will be purchasing the property, <br />the HRA is required to complete and approve the County's application for abatement on each <br />Property (Parcel) affected. At its regular meeting of June 9, 2009, the Ramsey HRA will be <br />authorizing twenty applications for abatements. This represents the twenty parcels that are <br />foreclosed in the Ramsey Town Center project area. Each parcel to be abated will include the <br />principal amount of the special assessments and the respective principal and interest applicable <br />to the special assessments through the closing date of June 26, 2009. A summary of the amounts <br />to be abated are shown below. The amount of applicable penalties and interest shown reflects <br />through the period of May 31, 2009.
