<br />Mayor Ramsey suggested adding more wood chips to the area. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember Look, to table indefinitely the Proposal <br />to Establish Turf in front of the Municipal Parking Facility. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers Look, Dehen, Elvig, <br />McGlone and Wise. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Flag Day <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated there will be an event on Flag Day, June 14, at Veteran's Lake, similar to <br />last year's event. <br /> <br />John Enstrom, 8702 181st Avenue, stated this is the fourth year they will be having the flag <br />retirement event; last year's flag retirement was the largest in the State. He stated this year, they <br />will also have donation boxes set up for people to donate items to the veterans serving in Iraq; <br />shopping lists are available of the items needed by the veterans and all items will be donated to <br />the Anoka Armory. He stated additional information regarding the Flag Day event will be <br />published in the Shopper and the event is free to the public. . <br /> <br />Freedom Celebration <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey announced that Pathways Church is holding a "Freedom Celebration" on June <br />28. Additional information regarding the event will be available at the next City Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Certificate of Achievement <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that the City of Ramsey recently received a Certificate of <br />Achievement in Financial Reporting award, which represents the highest award a government <br />entity can receive for its comprehensive annual financial report. He added this is the twelfth <br />consecutive award the City has won. He expressed the City Council's thanks and <br />congratulations to staff and particularly to Finance Officer Diana Lund. <br /> <br />Special Closed Session Meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich noted that the City Council held a special closed session meeting prior <br />to the City Council meeting for the purpose of conducting the City Administrator's performance <br />review; a summary will be presented at the City Council meeting on June 9, 2009. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Dehen, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />City Council / May 26, 2009 <br />Page 8 of9 <br />
