Commissioner Dunaway questioned what is the typical duration that the aircraft can sustain. Mr. Johnson answered the average is 8 - 10 minutes. The use is sporadic, not continued flying with sustained noise. Vice Chair Levine recessed the public hearing until the June Planning Commission meeting. Vice Chair Levine closed the regular portion of the Planning Cominission meeting at 7:25 p.m. in order to call the public hearing to order. Vice Chair Levine closed the public hearing at 7:34 p.m. Commission Business Vice Chair Levine called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 7:34 p.m. Commissioner Van Scoy questioned having a heliport in the Town Center Districts because of the high density of the area. ' Community Development Director Miller stated it would be in the public or quasi public use areas. It is mixed use and it would offer the opportunity to have a helicopter on the roof with a conditional use permit and with the conditional use permit the flight pattern would be looked at. TC-3 is an office type zoning with medical campuses allowed, which probably would require a heliport. Commissioner Cleveland stated that she thought the Town Center Districts would be an appropriate place for a heliport, she gave the example of Mercy Hospital being in a high density area, however does have helicopter landings.
