<br />Councilmember Elvig stated that he likes the structure of this program and he appreciates <br />the program as well. <br /> <br />3) Water Management Presentation by Senator Jungbauer <br /> <br />Senator Mike Jungbauer was present to give a legislative update on water resources. He <br />talked about the different committees he would like to be involved with and that he is <br />working with the Department of Natural Resources. He talked about water resources, <br />wastewater, water treatments, going green, etc. <br /> <br />1) Discussion of Accessory Structures related to Membrane Structures, Portable <br />Storage Containers, and Carports (Continued) <br /> <br />Associate Planner Gladhill stated that this is a continuation of an earlier discussion. He <br />added that staff believes we should have something in the City Code with regard to these <br />types of structures. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone cautioned that we have to define them very clearly. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that temporary moving storage pods would be okay. <br /> <br />Mr. Gladhill stated that some are essentially small roll-offs that can fit in the driveway. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if there should be a time limit for a pod. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Miller stated that the resident typically states a time - <br />we do not have a set amount of time but we ask them how long they need. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated that gets us back again to commercial versus residential <br />- retail might have this for four to five months. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated we are talking about residential to which Ms. Miller added that's <br />typically where we see them is residential. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that for pods, etc" he would say 60 days. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen suggested 45 days instead. <br /> <br />Councilmember Wise stated that it comes back to needing time - 60 days - 90 days are <br />not enough time. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey clarified that we are just talking about pods now. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated he would agree with 90 days. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session - May 5, 2009 <br />Page 8 of 14 <br />
