He asked why the City
couldn't use Round Up rather than saws and machines to keep weeds and shrubs down.

Councilmember Dehen stated that he thinks picking up garbage, knocking down the piles, and
mowing 10 feet from curb are all "no brainer".

Chair Elvigasked that staff comeback with ideas and potential costs for the next meeting.

Councilmember McGlone stated that he would like the things Councilmember Dehen suggested
right away and have staff come back if there are other issues that should be discussed.

Chair Elvig stated that there are issues with the Drop Zones atElmcrest Park. He stated that it
also appears that all the parking ramp lights have been turned on and suggested that the City look
at turning some of those off to help save money.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Dehen to adjourn the Public
Works Meeting.

Motion carried.

The regular meeting of the Public Works Committee adjourned at 6:57 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Brian 01son
Public Works Director

Drafted by Kayla Atkins~Rokosz
TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc.

Public Works Committee / June 16,2009
Page 6 of6
