<br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />The following Council minutes were noted: <br /> <br />1) City Council regular meeting minutes dated April 28, 2009 <br />2) City Council regular meeting minutes dated May 12,2009 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS/COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Request for Conditional Use Permit to Allow for Indoor <br />Retail Sales of Motor Vehicles in the E-l District; Case of Complete Motor <br />Sports <br /> <br />Public Hearing: <br /> <br />Vice Chair Levine called the public hearing to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Gladhill presented the Staff Report <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Ben Semler, 30646 Navajo Street, Isanti and Sean Corbin, 14412 Waco Street, the applicants, <br />stated they will be selling kids 4-wheelers, dirt bikes and scooters with sales done at fairs, and <br />ads in papers. There will be display units and sales transactions done at the suite. They <br />anticipate two to three people a week to pick up their items. There will also be helmets and gear <br />sold online. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rogers asked if they repair the items and then sell them. Mr. Corbin replied they <br />are purchased new; they put on the tires and prep them for sale. <br /> <br />Commissioner VanScoy questioned if there would be outdoor displays and if they are allowable <br />in this district. Mr. Semler stated they would like to put a few outside for display. Associate <br />Planner Gladhill stated outdoor displays would need to be written into the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Miller stated outdoor display was not part of the original <br />application and it would have to be determined how the outdoor displays would affect the other <br />tenants. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. V oting Yes: Vice Chair Levine, Commissioners VanScoy, Cleveland, <br />Dunaway, Hunt, and Rogers. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt <br /> <br />Planning Commission/June 4, 2009 <br />Page 2 of7 <br />
