<br />Subpart 4. Recreation and Fish and Wildlife. Each plan must outline how water resource based <br />recreational activities and wildlife interests will be protected or improved through the <br />implementation of the plan. In consideration of these issues, the plan must determine whether <br />there is a need to classify or prioritize individual water resources for management purposes. <br /> <br />Recreation, Fish and Wildlife <br /> <br />Goals <br /> <br />1. To maintain and/or expand the current ranges of recreational uses for the LRRWMO water <br /> <br />resources. <br /> <br />Policy 3.1: Natural areas, wildlife habitatand wetlands to be protected during construction <br />should be clearly marked and/or fenced in the field. <br /> <br />Policy 3.2: Buffer zones of natural vegetation as required by the municipalities around ponds and <br />wetlands will provide habitat for wildlife. <br /> <br />Policy 3.3: The water level fluctuation of a wetland or pond shall be maintained consistent with <br />the management function of the water body. <br /> <br />Policy 3.4: The WMO shall support programs for controlling purple loose strife. <br /> <br />Policy 3.5: The WMO shall support programs for controlling Eurasian water milfoil. <br /> <br />Policy 3.6: Activities related to recreation, fish and wildlife should be consistent with the Anoka <br />County Regional Park objectives and comprehensive plans of each member City. <br /> <br />Policy 3.7: MNRAM will be used to assess the function and values of wetlands/water bodies in <br />relationship to recreational, fish and wildlife habitat use of the facility. <br /> <br />Water Management Plan <br />P:\Mpls\23 MN\02\2302047\ WorkFiles\3rd Gen WMP\LRR WMO _3rd Gen WMP _July 2009_ Draft. doc <br /> <br />50 <br />
