<br />Subpart 5. Enhancement of Public Participation; Information and Education. Each plan <br />must outline goals andpolicies describing who will participate and when public <br />participation will be encouraged. Goals and policies must at least address the creation and <br />purposes of advisory committees and public information programs. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Public Participation, Information and Education <br /> <br />Goals <br />1. To manage and protection the water resources within the LRR WMO by: <br /> <br />. Promoting communication with both citizens with the WMO and governmental agencies. <br /> <br />2. To offer educational programs and information to provide an understanding of the WMO <br />objectives. <br /> <br />Policy 4.1: The WMOs annual communication will be used to discuss water resource issues <br />affecting the WMO. <br /> <br />Policy 4.2: The WMO shall make presentations to homeowner associations and lake associations <br />regarding activities of the WMO. <br /> <br />Policy 4.3: Citizen lake water quality monitoring is encouraged and supported by the WMO. <br /> <br />Policy 4.4: The WMO shall support Anoka C~)Unty's recreation and educational programs related <br />to the water resources of the community. <br /> <br />Policy 4.5: The WMO will make presentation at local school to promote the activities of the <br />WMO. <br /> <br />Policy 4.6: Through the WMO's web site and municipal newsletters, the activities of the WMO <br />will be presented. <br /> <br />Policy 4.7: The WMO will support storm stenciling activities of the municipalities. <br /> <br />Policy 4.8: The WMO will participate inworkshops on Water Smart to promote the activities of <br />the WMO. <br /> <br />Water Management Plan <br />P:\Mpls\23 MN\02\2302047\ WorkFiles\3rd Gen WMP\LRR WMO _3rd Gen WMP _July 2009_ Draft.doc <br /> <br />51 <br />
