Public Ditch Systems. lfpublic ditch systems constructed under Minnesota <br />Statutes, Chapter 103D or l03E, are within the organization, the plan shall by policy define <br />the organization's relationship to the ditch authority and recommend whether or not there <br />are advantages to managing the ditch systems under the Metropolitan Water Management <br />Act and determine whether ditch maintenance activities have the potential of adversely <br />impacting any goal of the organization. <br /> <br />Public Ditch System <br /> <br />Goals <br /> <br />1. To work with the municipalities and County on the maintenance of ditch systems to convey <br />water to maintain defined flood levels which protect businesses and residences. <br /> <br />Policy 5.1: The WMO encourages the maintenance of public ditches to provide protection of <br />private property and structures from flooding, without adversely affecting wetlands or <br />water quality. <br /> <br />Policy 5.2: Anoka County is recognized as having authority over all public ditches within the <br />watershed.
