<br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood introduced Bob Ehalt, who lives at the intersection of Alpine Drive <br />and Sunfish Lake, to the Commission and Council. He stated that Mr. Ehalt had donated <br />hundreds of hours to help pick-up trash within the City parks and along the trails. <br /> <br />Bob Ehalt commented that he has noticed many residents picking up trash as they walk along the <br />trails. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thanked Mr. Ehalt for his contributions to the City. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns requested discussing case two prior to case one. as some Commission <br />members would need to leave the meeting early. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Backous to approve the Park and <br />Recreation Commission meeting agenda for the meeting dated June 11, 2009 as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Erickson, Backous, Barr, <br />LaMere, and Shryock. Voting No: None. Absent None <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner LaMere, to approve the <br />following Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes: <br /> <br />1) Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes dated April 9, 2009. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Lawful Gambling Improvement Program Request <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood briefly reviewed the history and rules pertaining to the lawful <br />gambling improvement program. He advised that many projects had been completed through <br />this process including the outfield fences at Alpine Park, which also contributed to the dog park. <br />He stated that ARAA is requesting $3,100 to match their contribution towards the installation of <br />automatic door locks for the park center and concession buildings at Central Park. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen thought that technology was already available at that location. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that the locks are in use at Emerald Pond Park but not <br />currently at Central Park. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen questioned why the doors would be locked to begin with. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/June 11,2009 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br />
