<br />CASE # 8 <br /> <br />Memo <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />July 29, 2009 <br /> <br />I <br />j~ l~' /~ <br />RAi1slY <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Ramsey Planning Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Community Development Staff <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in July that may be of interest <br />to the Planning Commission: <br /> <br />Highway 10 Performance Standards. As we noted in the last staff update the City Council discussed <br />code enforcement and performance standards along the Highway 10 corridor. The outcome .of that <br />meeting is that Staffwill be conducting an inventory of existing conditions. Staff has begun that inventory <br />and a letter went out to all property owners and businesses along Highway to notifY them of the process. <br />The letter is attached for your information. .. <br /> <br />Extension to Submit Final Plat for Ramsey Town Center 6th Addition. The City Council approved a <br />fmal plat extension for D.R. Horton at their July 14th Council meeting. The preliminary plat was <br />originally approved in 2005 and amended in 2007. When DR Horton began working on fmal plat the <br />adjacent 146th Avenue was tied up in the Ramsey Town Center foreclosure issue. Since this was the <br />primary access for their plat they did not move forward. Now that the housing market has slowed down <br />they requested and CitY Council granted a 1 year extension to file a fmal plat <br /> <br />Approve Resolution for Market Analysis Update. The City Council approved a resolution at their July <br />14th meeting, requesting Anoka County HRA to conduct and fund an update to the Market Analysis <br />for Workforce and Senior Housing for the City of Ramsey which was originally completed in <br />April 2006. <br /> <br />Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow the Flying of Radio Controlled Aircraft. The City Council <br />approved the request from NorthWest Radio Control Club to fly their aircraft on the Pearson <br />property once the access agreement is finalized. <br /> <br />Planning Services. The City Council has retained Landform to perform some planning services with <br />regard to refining th.e vision for Town Center. They will be working with the Town Center Steering <br />Committee and performing focus groups as part of this process. Stay tuned for additional updates. <br /> <br />Ramsey Town Center Open House. There will be a public open house to solicit input on September 2nd, <br />from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Alexander Ramsey Room. See attached invitation. <br /> <br />PC: 08.06.09 <br /> <br />145 <br />
