<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 28,2009, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />, Councilmember Jeffrey Wise <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Engineer Tim Himmer <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Economic Development Coordinator Shawn Sullivan <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Discuss Gun Range Concept Plan <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan briefly reviewed the concept for a gun range in the <br />City. <br /> <br />Sergio Bulask advised that he and his business partner, Crystal Larson, were present to provide <br />information to the Council. He stated that his goal was to provide an indoor tactical firing range. <br />He wanted to provide an area for local, State, and 'Federallaw agencies, along with the general <br />public, to learn and improve their firearms safety skills. He advised that his business would <br />provide jobs for 13 to 18 people within the first 18 months of opening. He stated they would <br />also have pro-shop services, along with cleaning services and training. Mr. Bulask displayed a <br />sketch of the building that identified how each section would fit together. He described the <br />outdoor work that would be undertaken to improve aesthetics and prevent cars from hitting the <br />shop. For safety reasons, they will have one point of access.
