CONSENT #A,J <br />CONSIDER RESOLUTION ADOPTING GUIDELINES FOR ELECTRONIC <br />COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN COUNCILMEMBERS <br />By: William K. Goodrich, City Attorney <br />Kurtis G. Ulrich, City Administrator <br />Background: <br />City staff endeavors to keep the City Council informed as much as reasonably possible <br />regarding happenings at City Hall. Of course, the most efficient way of doing this is by <br />use of electronic communications. However, certain safeguards need to be in place to <br />insure that the communications do not violate the State's open meeting laws. To. that <br />end, staff is proposing adoption of certain guidelines regarding this subject which <br />guidelines were adopted by the League of Minnesota Cities.
