<br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:18 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Look, to direct staff to respond <br />to comments received regarding the City' s Wellhead Protection Plan. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Look asked if the City would put restrictions on private <br />wells and hooking up to City sewer and water. Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the <br />current policy on this issue. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Look, Dehen, Jeffrey, <br />McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Accept Plans and Specifications for City Project #08-32, Andrie Street and <br />164th Lane Street Improvements, and Authorize the Bid, and Accept <br />Resident Petition Against Inclusion of Sidewalk in the Project Scope <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to accept the plans and <br />specifications for City project #08-32, Audrie Street and 164th Lane Improvements, AND <br />Authorize for bid; and to adopt State Aid resolution #09-08-171 related to parking restrictions; <br />AND Accept the resident petition related to sidewalk construction. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers McGlone, Wise, Dehen, Elvig, <br />Jeffrey, and Look. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Jason Skyberg, 15450 Halas Circle NW, stated that there are residents here tonight because they <br />thought there was going to be a decision made on the sidewalk issue tonight. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that the petition was accepted tonight and a decision on the sidewalk will <br />be made at the time when a bid is accepted. He stated that residents will have a chance to <br />express their opinions at that time and reiterated that the Council accepted their petition, so they <br />understand their feelings related to the sidewalk. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that the City wants to find out exactly what the cost of a sidewalk is <br />before a final decision is made. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if there was any consideration made into the possible <br />environmental impact of installing sidewalks. <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer stated that he thinks there may be around 80 trees impacted with this <br />project, with additional impact if a sidewalk is included. <br /> <br />City Council / August 11, 2009 <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
