Councilmember McGlone suggested <br />that Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan have an e-mail and slide show ready to send <br />out to people who inquire about the property to show them what has been found on the property. <br />Councilmember Look stated that he would like to talk to realtors and see what they think it will <br />bring and then move forward with that information. Deputy City Administrator Nelson asked if <br />the Council would be open for staff to seek out brokers that would be willing to do this on a <br />commission basis because she doesn't think that Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan <br />should be serving as a Leasing Agent. Councilmember Dehen suggested marketing it at current <br />market value and see what comes in, and if it takes too much time, bring it back to the Council. <br />City Administrator Ulrich suggested a two-prong approach of putting a sign on the property, but <br />also talking to some realtors and ask them to submit proposals to try to beef up the sale of <br />property on a commission basis. <br /> <br />Amended motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, <br />Look, McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Consider Authorizing a Resolution for the Preparation and Distribution of a <br />Request for Qualifications/Proposal (RFQ/P) For Development of East Town <br />Center Park <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated that he is not in favor of moving ahead with this project, at this <br />point in time. He stated that there has just been a Steering Committee put together to discuss this <br />area and he feels like this is putting the cart before the horse in this development. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he thinks the City needs to move forward with the RFPIRFQ <br />process because the Steering Committee needs this information to begin moving forward. He <br />stated that it may come to the point where a decision is made not to pursue this, but he feels the <br />information is needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to Authorize the <br />preparation and distribution of an RFQ/P for the development of East Town Center Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Dehen, Elvig, Look, and <br />Wise.
