Community Program services include: assistance in tIling
protection orders, accompaniment and legal representation during subsequent
hearings, crime victim advocaoy immediately following a domestic assault and
throughout the criminal court process, follow-up provided to patients at Mercy
and Unity Hospitals and clinics, support groups, legal clinics, safety planning,
information and referral services.

In 2008 a total of 24,878 advocacy and support services were provided to Anoka
County victims of domestic violence by our Community Program. Of those
services, Ramsey residents received 1,435 or 5% of total services. In order to avoid significant changes in
our annual funding requests we have used a three-year average of services
provided to residents of your city. Attached please find a budget that details the
services provided to Ramsey residents, the total cost of providing those services,
and the portion of those costs we are requesting the City of Ramsey financially
support.

Domestic violence is a serious crime that impacts the public health and safety of
every community in this country. Research shows a well-coordinated and
multidisciplinary approach is one of the more effective means of reducing
domestic violence. Alexandra House partners with nearly all law enforcement
agencies in the countyl including the Ramsey Police ,Department and city
prosecutors, to create this kind of response to domestic violence in order to
reduce the incidence of domestic violence in Ramsey while ensuring the safety of
victims and holding offenders accountable.

Your financial support in 2009 was greatly appreciated. Support from Ramsey,
other cities and Anoka County allowed us to continue to provide critical services
to victims of domestic violence in Ramsey and throughout the County. We look
