<br />Member Elvig inquired about the amount of $250,000. Economic Development Coordinator <br />Sullivan sated that the $250,000 was within the guidelines set forth by the City Council in the <br />Business Subsidy Policy adopt at the beginning of2009. Economic Development Coordinator <br />Sullivan stated that there would be 11 job created with a minimum wage of $16.00 per hour as a <br />result of this project. Chairperson Riley asked if there is ever a follow up on the job creation <br />responsibilities. Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan stated that this is a business <br />subsidy and a MBAF form must be completed by City staff as part of the state reporting system. <br />Once the business has achieved the job creation goals the reporting ends. There are no additional <br />follow-ups required by the state of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Motion by Member Letourneau, seconded by Member Skaff to approve the proposed project, to <br />convey the land necessary, to draft a development agreement outlining the terms and conditions <br />of the project and to make recommendation to City Council for an award of a business subsidy <br />not to exceed $250,000. <br /> <br />Motion carried: Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Elvig, Letourneau, Skaff, Steffen <br />. and Williams <br /> <br />V oting No: None <br /> <br />Absent: Member Look <br /> <br />Case#2 STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan reviewed some projects. <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: <br /> <br />Martin EDM --- The 15,000 SF expansion on the current site. <br />They are waiting for the economy to settle down before moving forward. <br /> <br />Indoor Firing Range- An individual is considering a business start up that would bring a Gun <br />Range to the City of Ramsey. They are looking at the location in the old Super Valu Building, <br />located on I6ih Avenue. Site visits pertaining to the condition of the buildings within the <br />proposed project area is being done on August 13th. The results of the study will identify the <br />possibilities for a TIF district for this area. Member Elvig saw a presentation on the firing range. <br />He was very impressed and stated it was far more than gun range.
