Councilmember Look aye <br />Councilmember Wise aye <br />Councilmember Dehen aye <br />Councilmember Elvig aye <br />Councilmember Jeffrey aye <br />Councilmember McGlone abstain <br />Mayor Ramsey aye <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilmember McGlone rejoined the meeting at 10:52 p.m. <br />Case #10.3: Consider Contract Extension for Ramsey Star Express <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed staff report. <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if there had been any effort to look at other providers of bus <br />service. <br />City Administrator Ulrich responded that was a good idea and staff could look at other providers. <br />Councilmember Elvig noted the $40,000 was offset by the fare box, but they might need to raise <br />the fee to $4.00 at some point. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize staff to <br />enter into asix-month contract extension (October 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010) with First Transit <br />for the operation of the Ramsey Star Express. <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Look stated the Council discussed this at a worksession and <br />had received a lot of comments from the public in favor of the bus, which was a straight shot <br />while the rail had many stops. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None. <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />Celebrations <br />Councilmember Jeffrey noted he was absent two weeks. ago to celebrate "Super" Dave Osborne <br />who lost his life to cancer. He stated he also had a new grandchild born that same weekend. <br />Hapgy Days Committee Concerns <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he had a meeting with the Happy Days Committee and they expressed <br />their frustration and concerns regarding the helicopter event. <br />City Council /September 8, 2009 <br />.Page 22 of 23 <br />
