Sculptures incorporated into the fountains express the diverse ecologies of the <br />Mississippi River. An amphitheatre with stone seating focuses on a stage that doubles as a launch site for <br />St. Paul fireworks displays. The Mississippi <br />River Park project included the replacement of the existing wooden surfacing of the picnic shelter area and <br />installation of new playground equipment.
