<br />James joined Close Landscape Architecture in 2004 after forty years experience in the Twin Cities as a Landscape
<br />Architect. He has accomplished a wide range of project types including private residences, parks, churches, institu-
<br />tions, college campuses, commercial and civic site design. Jim's work history includes many"design-build", hands-on
<br />projects as well as traditional, professional projects. Jim has collaborated with artists and sculptors on several projects
<br />and is currently an exhibitor in the "Tree-o-ogy" exhibit at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. In 1995 he co-invented
<br />three U.S. patents for an aquatic nutrient binding process used in restoration of fresh water lakes, cleansing of industrial
<br />wastewater and in the production of Ethanol. Since 1972 he has been a guest lecturer for the College of Architecture
<br />and Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota. Jim has a reputation for creativity, excellence in design,
<br />unsurpassed technical expertise and attention to detail.
<br />
<br />Beyond working and teaching, James would gladly spend more time with his family, watercolors and hot rods. Like
<br />everything else he does, they are all individual and custom.
