PACT Charter School and their
authorizing school, Bethel
University, have a stake in the
success of Ramsey Town Center
and have already established
relationships with the City and
the Medical Examiners office to
integrate their environment into
their curriculum,

We have partnered with
PACT and Bethel University
to collaborate on the design
of the interpretive aspects
of the wetland, stormwater
. management and water recycle
components of the park.

to the Town Center. The location of the school adjacent to the park features in the
Town Center was intentional in design. Rhinestone Park to the west provides space
for physical education classes as well as many soccer and softball games through
a partnership with the City. The original design for this park envisioned a wetlands
classroom project where the science classes at PACT could assist with monitoring the
area and learning about environmental issues. We plan to collaborate with PACT's
and their authorizer, Bethel University, to partner in the development and ongoing
research and work related to the park, The school and university have consistently
expressed interest in being part of the designfmanagement team since the inception
of the Town Center plan eight years ago,

PACT and Bethel would be involved in the design of the wetland complex and
stormwater recycling system, including the incorporation of educational, interpretive
elements. Those efforts would translate 'into the PACT Charter School curriculum and
outdoor classroom opportunities. These improvements will provide ongoing, real life
experiences for the students in the areas of wetland and water management. It will
provide a unique alternative environment for environmental study, complementing the
already established Butterfly Garden located on school grounds directly between the
proposed interpretive sight and the school facilities.

Our primary contacts from PACT Charter School will be:
Judy Slegh, Secondary Science Teacher
Daniel C. DeBruyn, Ad,ministrator

4
