<br />Case #1: <br /> <br />ADOPT 2010 EDA LEVY <br /> <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan outlined the EDA Levy numbers for the EDA <br />Members. Discussion ensued and many questions were asked by members to Economic <br />Development Coordinator Sullivan as to how dollars would be spent next year 2010. <br /> <br />Motion by Member LeTourneau, seconded by Member Steffen to recommend approval of EDA levy for <br />payable 2010 in the amount of$291,705. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Members Elvig, LeTourneau, Look, Skaff, Steffen and Williams. <br />V oting No: None Absent: Chairperson Riley <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />BUSINESS NETWORK MEETING UPDATE <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented Case #2 <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan asked members present to review the invitation <br />that he put together. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued as to what business and government officials to send invitations to for the <br />2009 Ramsey Business Network Meeting on Tuesday October 6, 2009. There was much <br />discussion by members as to how the meeting would be conducted, who would present for how long, <br />would a round robin be the most effective use of time. Consensus was to have four sections to program <br />that starting with Commissioner McElroy with DEED and not to have individual introductions. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />2009 BUSINESS APPRECIATION DAY RECAP <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented Case #3 <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan summarized the event by saying "a good time was <br />had by all". He was concerned that some would be disappointed about the decreased cost of the <br />gift, but heard no negative comments. The event was well attended and Staff is looking forward <br />to hosting the event in 2010. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />STAFF UPDATE <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented Case #4 <br /> <br />Indoor Firing Range - Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan is currently working with <br />Sergio Bulask to find a location for the indoor firing range that is more suitable. Previously they <br />had been looking at the Bob's Supervalu site but have shifted their attention to a location at the <br />comer of Ramsey Blvd and 143rd III one of Sharp and Associates buildings. Also, this project will <br />be requesting the use of Business Subsidy dollars, currently that figure is near $100,000 but they <br />are looking at ways to bring that number down. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority / September 2, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
