<br />Delmont Fredricks, 7550 158th Avenue was present to discuss the trailway and proposed lake. <br />He expressed the way he sees the way the plan is laid out that it looked to him some of the <br />restaurants are encroaching the lake prohibiting a hike and bike atmosphere in that area. He <br />wanted to see tying a trail system out of the Town Center area through the north up to Central <br />Park. He also wanted to discuss the parking concern if a skatepark were to come to the Town <br />Center area. <br /> <br />Darren Lazan gave some background information relating to the trip to Iowa some City staff, <br />Council and Steering Committee members went on and explained how the lake is modeled after <br />a project called Jordan Creek. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock confirmed that the Commission will continue to look at concerns of <br />grading along the lake and access to the lake and creating a trail around it. Mr. Fredricks would <br />like to see some sort df interconnection of basins and Commissioner Shryock stated the <br />Commission will continue to look at unique ways of infiltration programs and will also continue <br />to work on connections of corridors and trails. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Amphitheater and Master Plan for East Meandering Commons Park <br /> <br />Park Supervisor Riverblood wanted to make sure the earlier concept plan is still workable and <br />tenable and is it still affordable and also stressed the deadline for construction design and the call <br />for bids is June 30, 2010. It is important to know that it is a tight timeline and the Commission <br />should expect to get involved as soon as October and no later than November. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Resident Request for County Road #5 Trail Segment from Sunwood Drive to Iodine Street. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood presented an exhibit of the missing segments along County Road 5. <br />He expressed the difficulties of prioritizing the important segments and reiterated that trail <br />connections and park improvements will be discussed as part of the 5-year park improvements <br />later in the fall. <br /> <br />Community Garden Project and Happy Days Event and Farmers Market <br /> <br />Park Supervisor Riverblood gave the update that the Community Garden has 38 bed spaces and <br />half of those beds are filled up and he wanted to plug in that the Community Garden Club is <br />staffing booths at the Happy Days event and is hosting a farmers market element. <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake Park <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood informed the Commission that recently the benches and signs were <br />installed along with striping of the parking lot and volunteer perennial plantings. <br /> <br />Archery for Traprock Commons Park <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/September 10, 2009. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
