<br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Elvig, to recommend that the <br />City Council direct staff to have the City Attorney review the issue of indemnification of <br />property owner installed septic systems and prepare for the repeal of Section 8.30.03(c) of the <br />City Code. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Dehen stated he would be opposing the motion because he <br />needed further information. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Councilmember McGlone. Voting No: <br />Councilmember Dehen. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Policies and Ordinances Relating to Sidewalk Installation <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed staff's report. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone noted a walkable community was a high priority in the comp plan for <br />the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated he did not have an issue with developing a policy for sidewalk <br />installation, but the issue was reconstructing smaller lots and putting in a sidewalk. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to recommend that the <br />City Council direct staff to develop a policy regarding sidewalk installation in existing right-of- <br />way. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Councilmembers McGlone and Dehen. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig requested staff look at the field next to the ballpark with respect to parking <br />and if the City should grade the hill in that location for additional parking. <br /> <br />Highway 10 Median Opening at License Bureau <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer asked if the Committee wanted to look at the Highway 10 median <br />opening at the Licensing Bureau now or if the Committee wanted to wait to see what happened. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Committee was to wait to see what happened. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Dehen, seconded by Councilmember McGlone to adjourn the Public <br />Works Meeting. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee / September 15, 2009 <br />Page 5 of6 <br />
