<br />Councilmember Dehen stated he had not been given the downsides. He noted the Committee <br />was saying no to some of the vendors, but the Council had not been informed the Committee was <br />turning down vendors, or whom the Committee had turned down. He recommended a <br />memorandum or update be given weekly in the future to Council on what the Happy Days <br />Committee was doing and recommending. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he also wanted to know if the Committee was having problems with <br />obtaining money for Happy Days. <br /> <br />Ms. Norman noted with the previous Council, there had always been an. open line of <br />communication and until this issue happened, there had never been any issues. <br /> <br />Cindy McKay stated she would have expected somebody to come to the Committee and ask the <br />Committee why the Committee had turned down the helicopter vendor. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated the line of communication was disconnected and he did not <br />know the Committee had looked at this vendor. He stated Council did appreciate the Committee. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated he was appreciative of the Committee's time, but the Council was <br />the ultimate decision maker. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey noted the helicopter company representative . was not in attendance at this <br />meeting and it appeared helicopter rides were not going to happen this year. <br /> <br />City Deputy Administrator Nelson stated it was staffs fault for not inviting the Committee to the <br />early September meeting and the miscommunication between Council and the Committee. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey noted it had already been communicated to the public that there would <br />be helicopter rides and indicated the public would need to be informed the rides had been <br />cancelled. He agreed there had been a miscommunication between Council and the Committee. <br /> <br />2) Update from Ramsey Town Center Steering Committee <br /> <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson reviewed the staffreport. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey, Chair of the Steering Committee, stated the Committee still had a lot of <br />work to do and asked Council what the Council envisioned the role of the Steering Committee <br />was going to be. <br /> <br />Darren Lazan, Landform, presented the Ramsey Town Center visioning. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated he was concerned the City was spending money on concept plans <br />and visions. <br /> <br />Gary Van Scoy, Planning Commissioner, stated it was his opinion the concept plan was <br />following what was originally envisioned. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / September 15, 2009 <br />Page 5 of8 <br />
