Staff surveyed other cities and, of those that responded to the survey, three have a policy for <br />appointing alternates to their commissions and one city had a policy for appointing alternates that <br />has since been discontinued. Two of the cities that responded have attendance policies. <br />Ramsey's attendance policy is as follov)a: <br /> <br />2.03.02, subd. 4 Appointment of Members, Terms of Office and.Removal, <br />Unexcused Absences <br /> <br />Any Board of Commission member having three of more unexcused absences in <br />any given year shall be cause for review of member status on the Board or <br />Commission and the City Council shall make a determination, with Board or <br />Commission recommendation, as to that member's continued service on the Board <br />or Commission. <br /> <br />Staff would like to note that in speaking with the Assistant Community Development Director, <br />the Planning Commission Chair did express that he opposed haVing alternates.
