Shardlow, AICP <br /> <br />Qualifications for <br /> <br />Ramsey Town Center <br /> <br />Mr. Shardlow has extensive and wide-ranging project experience <br />serving clients in both the public and private sectors. He has <br />frequently been called upon to lead multi-disciplinary teams of <br />consultants in completing large, complicated planning projects. <br />John's skills include project planning for residential, commercial, <br />mixed-use, industrial, and institutional developments; <br />comprehensive and community planning; and preparing <br />redevelopment plans, tax-increment financing plans, subdivision <br />regulations, and environmental assessments. John also frequently <br />provides expert testimony on matters related to planning. <br /> <br />John has been involved in planning and zoning education for <br />lawyers, planners, and elected and appointed officials for 28 years. <br />He regularly prepares and teaches seminars through the League of <br />Cities, and has developed and taught classes through Government <br />Training Services. John is nationally recognized as a leading expert <br />on successful end use planning. He has led local economic <br />development efforts ranging from mainstreet revitalization in small <br />communities, to suburban mall redevelopment, to advising the <br />owners on the second phase of the Mall of America. <br /> <br />Relevant Experience <br /> <br />. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND AFFILIATIONS <br />Urban Land Institute - John is currently serving as the <br />Immediate Past Chair of the Minnesota Chapter ULI, where he <br />provides leadership on a broad range of regional land use issues. <br />He also works closely with the ULI sponsored Regional Council of <br />Mayors and serves as Co-chair of its Environment Committee. <br />John is also a member and Vice Chair for Programming for the <br />ULI National Sustainable Development Council. <br /> <br />Planning Consultant for more than 100 cities and counties <br />throughout Minnesota - John has been extensively involved in a <br />wide and diverse range of planning, zoning and development <br />projects, including numerous award winning projects. <br /> <br />NW Quadrant Redevelopment Project, City of St. Anthony <br />Village - John served as principal in charge of this "smart <br />growth" Twin Cities project, which received the BATC Bennie <br />Award for Best Infill Redevelopment Neighborhood project. <br /> <br />Regional Conservation Design Framework - John was a co- <br />author of this effort for the greater 13-county Twin Cities <br />metropolitan area.
