Phase III: Implementation Strategy (optional)

A final optional stage of the process is the creation of an implementation plan for the
project improvements. Undertaking this stage is dependent on project funding.

Develop Implementation Strategy
1. Meet with project advisory team to prioritize projects for further research of
implementation
2. Research implementation requirements for each project - land ownership (if
applicable), project costs, logistics, barriers/challenges.
3. Research potential project partners and funding sources for each project
4. Present draft report of results to project advisory committee, and discuss draft
report. For each project, the report will include implementation requirements,
project partners, and funding sources.
5. Revise draft implementation report.

Deliverables

This collaborative work will result in a
cohesive, shared vision for this key reach of
the Mississippi River. The vision will guide
future development decisions and inform
public and private investments in the river
corridor. Specific deliverables will include
the following:
· Assembled study area base mapping;
· Community Scoping Workshop
summary;
· A set of formal principles and
concepts shared by all four cities
along the River corridor, that will be
used to guide decisions and investments going into the future;
· A generalized community design plan for the river corridor, that shows
opportunities for protection of key natural features and open space, future trail
connections, and future sites for development; .
· Vignettes that illustrate how river principles and concepts would be applied to
specific areas of opportunity or challenge;
· An implementation report (optional, depending on funding)
· The above may be incorporated together in a formal written and illustrated
report;
· An accessible overview of the community design plan that can be pinned up and
easily used in a variety of contexts;
· All maps and documents provided in electronic format
