Once a detailed work program has been agreed upon a detailed
task/cost budget can be developed.

Collaborators

Founded in 1993, Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) is a
local non-profit organization that works to protect and
enhance the natural, scenic and cultural assets of the
Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities. We
work on three major teams, focusing on watershed
protection, land conservation, and stewardship. FMR has
helped coordinate numerous river-focused planning and
outreach efforts throughout the Twin Cities.

FMR expects to retain one or more consultants to assist in
the planning efforts. For other similar projects, FMR has
frequen tly worked with landscape architect Bruce
Chamberlain of Hoisington Koegler Group Inc., Bruce would
be a natural partner on this effort as well. Depending on the
scope and focus of planning efforts, additional consultants
and collaborators may be retained as necessary.

The process will substantially involve each of the eight principal government units
representing the river corridor in the area: the Cities of Dayton, Elk River, Otsego, and
Ramsey, and Anoka County, Hennepin County, Sherburne County, and Wright County.
