To: City of Ramsey-Inspections Staff Nov. 18th, 2009

From: Mark Hilliard-Owner 5161 156th Lane NW Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Photographic evidence of GopherOne electrical utility location

To Inspection staff:
I want this document entered as part of the evidence packet you will present to the
Variance Board at the upcoming Variance Board meeting that will address my re-
quest for a variance on my lot to build a storage shed.

Per your request for confirmation that there are pre-existing electrical utility ser-
vices that run directly through the "alternative shed location" you sent me via the .
.PDF aerial photograph you sent me, I am enclosing photographs of the path
(identified by GopherOne) that my current main electrical distribution line fol-
lows as it travels from the road to my house along the north side of my driveway.
As you can easily see for yourself YOUR proposed alternative location would
place a shed directly over at least 15 or more feet of my main electrical feed. I
already knew about this utility location and it just one of several reasons (in addi-
tion to mature tree destruction, and major landfill requirements, etc.) that a shed
should NOT be built at your proposed alternate location. As I also mentioned this
line is not deeply buried and would likely have to be relocated or re-buried-at
. considerable expense - to avoid damage by concrete foundations. The tall white
stakes in the pictUres approximate corner locations
of a shed build per your proposal.

28
