The firm name reflects our various roles as cost managers, programmer! planners and agency construction managers. CPMI provides cost management for public and institutional projects that is: . CPMI's most advanced tools include computers, digitizer and numerous national data bases. Automation allows cost feedback to be responsive. Our primary emphasis is on Creative Cost Management. From the initial budget progressing through the Conceptual and Design phases of a project, design decisions are reviewed from a cost point of view. An important element of creative cost management in the early stages is the ability to translate the concepts into realistic cost projections. The purpose of Cost Management is to assure maximum value within established cost parameters. Maximum value is a complex concept involving initial cost. value analysis, life cycle cost and ultimate satisfaction. The emphasis is on management. Effective cost management depends not only on thorough knowledge and systems support, but on management ability. Change Order reviews In addition to General Construction costs, great emphasis is placed on the mechanical/electrical and other environmental project components. These represent a large portion of initial project costs and a major percentage of total life cycle costs. CPMI considers inadequate coordination and evaluation of mechanical and electrical design a major drawback in the traditional building process.
